Semester reflection

At the beginning, I didn't know what to expect from this class honestly, I only took it because, it is a required class. and when I came in for my first day of class and heard that we were going to use Photoshop, I kind of freaked out because I don't know how to use it, I mean I could figure it out but other than that I had no clue on how to use it.
I expected to learn how to advertise and market through social media. how to use Facebook and twitter to attract more customers into your business. Also how to make your presence be felt through social media across your target market. I Also thought we were going to get involved with Photoshop like I said previously.
What I leaned was all the stuff I said previously, minus the Photoshop part, and more. We learned how to manage multiple accounts of social media like twitter, Facebook, blogger and hoot suite. We learned how to deal with people that make comments unrelated to your business as well as the people that do make angry posts on your homepage. We learned how to use hoot suite which was a big help with the ten tweet and Facebook posts.

My favorite experience was probably doing the list post on which is the best martial art. Because I actually got to researched things I really enjoy reading, so that post ended up being fast and easy to write as well as thoughtful from my part.

no shave November hygiene

Hygiene is key in Jiu Jitsu and if you show up to a class all smelly and with your long nails. It’s disrespectful to your team mates as well as harmful to their skin, you can cut them with them, so please clean yourself up before coming to classes. For those doing no shave November, keep your facial hair in check so you don’t leave any hairs in the mats, I don’t want to walk around after hours cleaning up the place of hairs.
Some tips to keep yourself groomed and clean.
source
1.check your nails after you shower and trim them, they are at their softest and easiest to cut.
2. shower, don’t be smelly.
3. if you have a long beard, tied up in a knot or with a hair tie, same goes for girls with long hair (which is most of you).
4. going back to being smelly, wash your clothes.
That’s it, some tips to help you guys keep your hygiene up and in check. Also, Don't touch the beard if you pull on someone's beard you will be hurting them, as well as dirtying up my floor, they will get really pissed off as well.

Best fighting discipline.

Over time I've been asked, "which martial art is the best?" and my answer is always the same "i don't know". well today we finally take a look at which martial arts I personally think are the best martial arts if you are going to compete in mixed martial arts.

5. Karate
Karate involves palm strikes which are safe for the knuckles and kicking. it concentrates on adding as much power to the strike while maintaining a fast paced rhythm. some downsides to it are the reloading of the punches makes it very energy consuming as well as predictable. It also doesn't teach take down defense.
Place of origin :China.

4.boxing
source
Boxing is clenching you fist and hitting the opponent with the knuckles of the hand. It is very fast paced and it varies from fighter to fighter on  how hard the punch will be. biggest upside to boxing is you will always be covering the head when striking. Downsides are that the legs are not being used for anything thus they become a very easy target. no take down defense for boxing as well.
Place of origin: somewhere in Europe.

3. Muay Thai kickboxing.
Muay Thai kickboxing happens to be my favorite discipline to the day, it involves both knowledge of kicking and boxing as well as the use of elbows and knees. It is fast and powerful due to the maximizing the capabilities of the momentum generated by each punch and kick. it is one of the most complete disciplines there is out there. There is one downside to it you are still vulnerable for a take down, not as much as the ones mentioned before since you can throw knees making it harder but it is still very possible.
place of origin: Thailand.

2. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Probably the most dangerous one in the list, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is considered the best all around discipline, it involves getting your opponent on the ground and fighting for control until someone is in a favorable position, from there is the bending ,twisting , slicing ,choking on vulnerable body parts like the neck. this is also considered submission wrestling, downside, not as much striking available.
place of origin: Brazil.

1. Wrestling
source
wrestling is basically bringing the opponent down in the most painful staggering and shocking way possible. it teaches you how to defend for leg take downs as well as do them. it is very important for wrestlers to not make it to the ground thus they train their mind to find ways to avoid it.
Place of origin: too many to be accurate.
